The lead single was Green Day's first overtly political track, and "Minority" was a punchy call against the "Moral Majority" of the right wing. The title track served as the second single, followed by "Waiting" and "Macy's Day Parade. Warning has less of the pop punk sheen that Green Day had been known for, and instead took on a folkier sound more inspired by Bob Dylan. In the Kerrang! This, though, is unfair.
Even so, in too many places this is a collection that lacks fizz. But when Warning does attain elevated status, it takes flight with a graceful ease.
